In order to study 126 rainfed barley samples in different seed classes, control plots with an area of 6 m2 (4 lines at a distance of 30 cm and a length of 5 m) and a distance of 5 cm between plants were formed. In addition, 8 plots were assigned to reference plots of dryland barley cultivars. First, by comparing morphological characteristics (according to UPOV descriptor), cultivars participating in reference plots and other participants in the control plots, the originality of seed samples was evaluated, then the number of plants of other cultivars and other species in each plot were observed. The genetic purity of seed samples was determined by counting and comparing the standards of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The results of this study showed that 3 samples (2% of the total samples) lacked originality and 7 samples (6% of the total samples) lacked genetic purity. The results of comparing the samples by seed classes showed that the mother seed class with 4 rejected samples had the most non-standard samples. The results of comparing seed samples by province also showed that the highest number of rejected samples belonged to Lorestan, Fars and Golestan provinces. However, all seed samples from Ilam, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Khorasan Razavi, North Khorasan, Zanjan, Kurdistan and Hamedan provinces were evaluated as standard in this regard.
