To investigate the efficacy of the new herbicide Quizalofop-P-ethyl 8.8% EC at 526-600 ml/ha (recommended dosages by Kimiya Company) in grass weed control of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.), an experiment was conducted in Gilan and Ardabil and Golestan Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Centers in 2020. Experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with 4 replications and 9 treatments. Treatments consisted Quizalofop-P-ethyl 8.8%EC at dosages of 500, 550, 600 and 650 ml.ha-1, Galant super (Haloxy fop-R-methyl ester 10.8% EC) at 0.75 L.ha-1, Select Super (Clethodim 12%EC) at 1 L.ha-1, Nabo-S (Sethoxydim 12.5%OEC) at 3 L.ha-1, Fusilade Forte (Fluazifop-P-butyl 15%EC) at 3 L.ha-1 and Weed-free control. Herbicides were applied at 2-4 leaves stage of grass weeds. To compare the treatments, EWRC rating scale for visual control and weed number and biomass reduction percentage in each treatment compared to the non-sprayed treatment were applied. Also, the percentage increase of biologic and economic yield and the weight of one hundred seeds of peanut in each treatment in comparison with the non-sprayed control were assessed to evaluate the treatments. In Guilan province, the mean number of grass weeds in weedy control was 58 with dry weight of 231.3 g/m2. In Ardabil province, the mean number of E. crus-galli and S. verticillata in weedy control was respectively 8 and 7 with 34.5 and 27.25 g/m2, respectively. In Golestan province, the mean number of E.colonum, S. glauca and S. verticillata in weedy control was respectively 62, 40, 8 with dry weight of 1372, 389, 170 g/m2. The result showed that in Guilan province, application of Quizalofop-P-ethyl 8.8% EC at 500, 550, 600 and 650 ml/ha led to efficient control of grass weed (72, 79, 90, 85% number reduction and 70, 87, 96, 92% dry weight reduction). In Ardabil province, the control efficacy of the new herbicide at 500, 550, 600 and 650 ml/ha for the number reduction of E. crus-galli was 57, 74, 90, 92% and for dry weight reduction was 60, 71, 90, 92%, respectively and for S.glauca, the number reduction was 46, 60, 71, 69% of and the dry weight reduction was 57, 84, 93, 92%. In Golestan province, application of Quizalofop-P-ethyl 8.8% EC at 500, 550, 600 and 650 ml/ha led to 19, 24, 57, 58% number reduction and 23, 53, 78, 78% dry weight reduction of E. colonum, 33, 35, 39, 53% number reduction and 51, 59, 90, 92% dry weight reduction of S. glauca and 53, 61, 66, 58% number reduction and 87, 90, 92, 87% dry weight reduction of S. vercillata. Application of Quizalofop-P-ethyl 8.8% EC at recommended dose of company (526-600 ml/ha) in weed control was at par with common herbicides and yield production of peanut. In totally, the new herbicide of Quizalofop-P-ethyl 8.8% EC at dosage of 600 ml/ha (52.8 g ai/ha) in the form of a foliar spray in stage two- to four-leaf of narrow-leaf weeds is recommendable as a new herbicide to control narrow-leaf weeds in and can replace previously registered herbicides with the high recommended dosage per hectare.
