testThis study was conducted with the aim of study the agronomic traits, preliminary yield evaluation of 18 mutant genotypes (M5) resulted from chemical mutation of Hashemi local rice variety, selected of augmented design in 2019, with control cultivars Hashemi, Anam in a randomized complete block design with three replications , at the Rice Research Institute of Iran, Rasht, in 2020. In this study, Agronomic and morphological characteristics including flowering time, plant height, number of fertile tillers, panicle length, number of filled grains, number of unfilled grains, 100-grain weight, seed length, seed width, Head rice yeild, amylose content, mean gelatinization temperature and grain yield were assessed in all genotypes. Results of variance analysis illustrated that the trial treats had significant difference at the level 1% in terms of studied traits except number of fertile tiller trait (p<0.05). Mean comparison of lines yield with Hashemi and Anam cultivars showed that 7 mutant genotypes had superiority than Anam cultivar and 15 mutant genotypes than Hashemi control. So this genotypes were selected considering with properties such as short height, Earliness, good grain quality and high yield for compatibility and sustainability projects.
