To do this national project, first the seeds of the best populations of satureja species obtained from the implementation of the first phase of the project were prepared and seedlings were prepared from them. Then seedlings were cultivated in research farms of Alborz, Isfahan, Kurdistan, East Azerbaijan, Lorestan and Kermanshah Provinces in a randomized complete block design with three replications. In order to evaluate and compare the essential oils of these species in irrigated conditions under different nutritional treatments and in rainfed conditions under nutrient and density treatments, their flowering branches were collected for several consecutive years after planting, dried in shade subjected to hydro-distillation for obtaining their essential oils. In addition of calculating the essential oil yield, the constituents of the essential oils were measured and identified using analytical gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatograph connected to mass spectrometer (GS-MS) and calculating the retention indices. By comparing the results and changes in the yield and composition of essential oils in consecutive years, the best quantity and quality of essential oil produced was determined. Essential oil compounds were identified for cultivated species. The treatments were N50, P25, K25, Cow Manure30, Cow Manure60, N50, P25, K25 + Cow Manure 30, N50, P25, K25 + Cow Manure 60, Vermi-compost (5 ton/ha), N50, P25, K25 + Vermi-compost (5 ton/ha), Glomus mosseae, G. intraradaices, Azospirillum, Pseudomonas, Thiobacillus + S0, Thiobacillus + S250, Thiobacillus + S500, Thiobacillus + Vermi-compost (5 ton/ha) and control. The results in different climatic regions are presented.
