The date palm fading (wilting) disorder was first reported in 1989 from Ghaleh Ganj and Roodbar in Kahnooj city. At present, in addition to the southern region of Kerman province, it was reported from the southeast of Kerman province (Bam, Fahraj and Rigan) as well as in Bushehr, Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchestan and Khor and Biabank provinces of Isfahan. The most of date fruit productions are lost annually due to this disorder. The most obvious symptoms of this disorder include sudden wilting and shrinkage of the fruit, and finally the whole cluster bunch, simultaneously with the conversion stage of Kharak to Rotab. Mazafati and Koloteh cultivars in Kerman province, Mordasang in Hormozgan, Kabkab in Bushehr, Khasi, Kabkab and Barhi in Khuzestan, Kabkab and Khassoei in Fars, which are considered as commercial cultivars in these areas, are the most sensitive cultivars reported to this disorder. The sudden onset, rapid spread and geographical extent of the disorder has been such that it deprives palm growers of the power to take action and take the necessary measures to control or reduce its damage, and palm growers in less than one to two weeks, they have witnessed the loss of the result of a year of their efforts. From the results of research conducted in recent years, it has been determined that this disorder is not due to direct involvement of pathogens and treatments performed to moderate the climatic conditions of the grove, prevent direct sunlight and hot and dry winds to the clusters, Improving the nutritional and irrigation conditions of the grove significantly reduces the damage of this disorder. It was found that unfavorable climatic conditions (excessive heat, low relative humidity, hot and dry winds) in the critical period of conversion of Kharak to Rotab, is the cause of dryness and shrinkage of date clusters in date palm regions in the south of the country and other factors such as the mismanagement of the grove and the occurrence of some pests and diseases of dates, increases the severity of the damage. Research has shown that the severity of the disorder is higher in saline lands with light texture and in orchards without vegetation among the rows of dates. Pruning and proper pruning, proper and timely nutrition, irrigation management, proper pollination, cluster pruning and observing the ratio of number of clusters to leaves, cluster arrangement, cluster cover, intercropping , the presence of windbreaks, all reduce the severity of the damage of date cluster drought .Key words: pathogen, wilting, covering, optimum nutrient, salinity, intercropping
