Due to the scarcity of water resources, especially in arid and semi-arid regions, the use of this vital resource has been limited. Growing in greenhouses and indoors as an effective way to increase production, with less water consumption is expanding. Due to the serious drought crisis in Fars province, it is planned to increase the area of greenhouses in the province to 7000 hectares by 2024. Therefore, a large volume of culture media is needed, some of which are currently imported from abroad. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of different planting medium combinations (70% cocopeat + 30% perlite (control), 50% licorice pulp + 50% bran, 25% licorice pulp + 75% bran, 75% pulp Licorice + 25% bran, 100% bran, 100% sawdust, 100% licorice pulp, 50% bran + 50% sawdust, 50% bran + 50% cocopeat) in a completely randomized design in three replications for each product was implemented separately in 2019-2020. Vegetative and quantitative indices for strawberries such as number of leaves, leaf area, number of fruits, number of non-marketable fruits, average fruit weight, yield and firmness of fruit texture and qualitative indices such as TSS amount of fruit juice, percentage of fruit acid, TA / TSS ratio and reproductive index included flower size and flowering time. Also, some evaluation criteria of pepper product include fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit weight, total fruit number, number of marketable and non-marketable fruits and total yield of each plant, soluble solids, titratable acidity, total carotenoids, vitamin C. The results showed that the effect of planting composition on all vegetative, reproductive and quantitative characteristics of strawberry fruit except the number of days to flowering was significant but not on the quality traits of strawberry juice. The results also showed that the effect of planting composition on all vegetative, reproductive and quantitative characteristics of pepper fruit except the number of bad fruit and fruit diameter was significant and no significant difference was observed on the quality traits of pepper fruit. Based on the results of this study, different properties of strawberry were reduced in the composition of pure bran (100%) and compounds containing more than 50% of bran, but different properties were found in the composition of pure bran (100%) and pure licorice (100%). The most economically beneficial treatment in strawberry production is (licorice (75%) + bran (25%) and in the production of bell pepper is the most economically beneficial treatment (bran 50% + sawdust 50%).
