The study area is called Lilanchai plan and is located northeast of Miandoab city and southwest of East Azarbaijan province and 200 km far from Tabriz city with more than8900 hectares. Most of these areas are cultivated dry farms crops, but in other parts of this region irrigated crops such as wheat, alfalfa, and garden productsespecially grapes are cultivated. First step for executing this research was climatically classifying some crops such as wheat, rapeseed, tomato, garlic, grapes and pistachio. The results showed that wheat, rapeseed, and tomatoes were belonged to class S1. This means that there is no climatic limitation for these plants, but saffron, garlic, grapes and pistachio were belonged to class S2. On the next step, final suitability evaluation of each land unit has been done based on parametric method. The final evaluation showed that, only 250 hectares of these land were belonged S1 class for rapseed cultivation and the rest of the lands due to the limitation factors such as slop, gravel, permeability, high groundwater level, salinity and alkalinity were placed in relatively suitable classe(S2) to non suitable (N2) classes. Most of these limitation can be eliminated or reduced by corrective actions such as leveling, aggregating pebbles, leaching, and drainage. But it is essential to reduce its effects on the nutritious absorption as phosphors as well as micro element by proper management, applying animal composite, sulphur and acidic fertilizers.Key words:Malekan, Land suitability, parametric method, Land index.
