plants are the best source of energy for human and animal life and the raw material supplier of many food industry products; Therefore, effective factors in plant growth and production increase are of particular importance. One of the most important and necessary factors affecting plant growth and plant production is water, and the results obtained from many years of research on the relationship between water and product performance indicate that there is a direct relationship between the decrease or increase in production and the amount of water required by the plant in There are stages of plant growth, including germination, germination, pollination, and crop ripening, and it can be said that almost all physiological processes in plants are directly influenced by water. Achieving maximum production is possible when sufficient irrigation water is provided to the plant until potential evaporationtranspiration is reached; Therefore, determining the irrigation water required by plants and planning in order to ensure optimal growth and obtaining the maximum yield and knowing the water consumption of plants is one of the goals of determining the irrigation water requirement of plants. In order to optimally use the country's water resources and optimally produce agricultural products in Iran, it is necessary to determine and modernize the irrigation water requirement of plants based on the standard tevaporationtranspiration of plants. The purpose of this report was to update the water requirement of agricultural and horticultural plants using the FAO 56 single-part plant coefficient method at the country level. The results obtained in this study showed that, in general, the average water requirement of 10 crops that make up more than 90% of the cultivated area of crops, including wheat, barley, rice, alfalfa, grain corn, fodder corn, rapeseed, potato, Tomatoes and sugar beets are 510, 447, 677, 1323, 634, 663, 451, 593, 792 and 898 mm, respectively. Also, the average water requirement of 10 garden plants that make up more than 90% of the cultivated area of garden plants, including pistachio , apple, date, grape, walnut, orange, saffron, almond, pomegranate, olive, 587, 785, 1411, 649, 820, 952, 343, 661, 780, 893 mm, respectively, and the amount of water needed by agricultural and garden plants was obtained. It has been extensively and extensively presented in the water requirement system (http://niwr.ir).
