In order to evaluate the nutritional status of saffron using diagnosis and recommendation (DRIS) and deviation from the optimal percentage (DOP) methods, soil and leaf samples from 30 saffron farms in Khorasan Razavi and South Khorasan provinces’ collected and nutrient concentrations N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu and B in them were measured. According to the amount of yield, farms were divided into two groups, high and low yield farms. DRIS norms and indices were determined for nutrients in leaves. The amplitude of nutrient concentration in saffron leaves was determined using DRIS method. Mean nutrient concentrations in high yielding plant populations were used as reference cultivars to calculate DOP indices. Then, using Dries nutritional balance indices and deviation from the optimal percentage (DOP), the equilibrium or imbalance of nutrient uptake in low-yield saffron fields was determined. The results showed that according to the average Driss method, the Driss index for high consumption elements of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in Khorasan Razavi province were -6.1, -109 and -22, respectively, and in South Khorasan 1.93, 0.19 and -3/ 14, respectively obtained. In both provinces, the order of nutrient deficiency in saffron fields is almost the same and magnesium, phosphorus, calcium and potassium are among the limiting elements of saffron yield in both provinces, respectively. The reason for the lack of priority is the lack of trace elements because the performance is controlled first by high consumption elements and then by eliminating the deficiency of these elements by low consumption elements. At the same time, copper, manganese and zinc fertilizer preferences of trace elements in saffron cultivation were determined, respectively.Using the concentration of nutrients in leaves and in fields with high relative yield (high), standard concentration (reference concentration) in Khorasan Razavi province for nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium, respectively 3.02, 0.25, 1.16, 16 1.1 and 0.23 percent and for iron, manganese, zinc, copper and boron were obtained 167.17, 22.25, 24.58, 6.75 and 21.00 mg / kg, respectively. Standard (reference concentration) in South Khorasan province for nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium elements are 2.94, 0.25, 1.22, 1.18 and 0.21 percent, respectively, and for iron, manganese, zinc, copper and Boron was obtained 215.27, 27.21, 21.30, 7.27 and 25.75 mg / kg, respectively.
