To study the compatibility and stability of yield and yield component of 40 selected potato clones along with 4 varieties: Agria, Santea, Satina and Khavaran an experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with three replications in six regions (Karaj, Ardabil, Hamadan, Esfahan, Shahroud and Mashhad) for two years. The number of genotypes in each location were not equal. The length of each plot was 6 m, the number of rows in each plot was 2 and the distance of plants between the rows and on the rows was 75 and 25 cm, respectively. The results showed that the main effect of genotype and environment and their interaction was significant at 1% probability level for most of traits. The response of genotypes was not the same in different places. Considering all the studied traits and simultaneous study of the average total yield and relative superiority coefficient we recognized that 8707/26, 7009/3, 8707/29, 8702/8004, 8707/112, 8707/861, 8707/55 clones along with Agria, Santea and Khavaran cultivars, had a good relative crop compatibility and their average of yield was higher than the average of population. Although 8708/244 and 8707/276 clones had high average of yield in the study areas, their relative yield compatibility was lower than the above-mentioned clones. According to the average yield, relative superiority coefficient and coefficient of genotypic variation, clones 8708/133 and 8701/125 were recommended for planting in Hamadan province.Key words: potato clone, compatibility, qualitative and quantitative traits.
