In this study, in order to evaluate the grain and forage preliminary yield of pure grain and forage sorghum lines, 47 pure grain sorghum lines with Kimiya and Fouman cultivars (control) and 47 pure lines with forage sorghum Pegah and Mansor cultivars were cultivated as control in two simple latis designs 7×7 with two replications in Karaj in 2020. Comparison of mean grain yield in grain lines showed that line number 7 with grain yield of 13880 kgha-1 had the highest grain yield and in terms of 1000-grain weight line number 3 with 1000-grain weight of 37.91 grams ranked first dedicated to itself. Of course, the number of high-yield lines was higher than the control, but lines number 7, 2, 1,14, 5, 10, 13, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 33, 40, 42 and 43 were identified as high-yield lines. In forage lines, the total yield of two harvest fresh forage lines, lines 10, 25 and 36 and Pegah cultivar and KFS18 line with wet forage yields of 133.9, 140.1, 141.3, 157.3, respectively. 133.3 tha-1 had the highest forage yield. These lines were also superior in terms of dry forage yield. In total, lines 10, 25, 5, 6, 9, 12, 18, 28, 30, 36, 38 and 43 were recognized as high-yield forage lines.
