In order to determination of water requirement in Satureja spicigera., an experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design using the research lysimeters of Alborz Research Center, south of Karaj in 2017. Irrigation of lysimeters (using wet and dry soil sampling) was adjusted at field capacity, moderate stress and high stress. Using the volumetric method, inlet water applied. Water leachate from each lysimeter was collected in separate tanks and measured. The studied characteristics included plant height, canopy environment, dry weight and water requirement of savory plant. According to the results, water consumption in conditions stress without stress was 4476 m3 and in mild and severe stress were 3551 and 2611 m3, respectively. In other words, moderate and severe stresses were 20.66 and 41.67% reduction in water consumption, respectively. With this amount of water consumption, the dry matter yield was 69.35 and 69.27, respectively had a percentage reduction in performance. The water use efficiency in non-stress, moderate and severe stress conditions was 0.99, 0.38 and 0.53 kg / m3, respectively. By applying targeted management, supplementary irrigation and applying appropriate water shortage stress Satureja. spicigera can be grown in natural areas and low-yielding drylands.Key words: Karaj, medicinal plants, water strees, Satureja spicigera
