In order to investigate 347 seed samples from introduced cultivars in different seed classes, control plots of 6 square meters area (4 lines with 30 cm width and 5 meters length) was formed. In addition, 33 plots were allocated to the reference collection of barley commercial cultivars. At the first, barley cultivars were identified based on morphological characteristics (according to the UPOV discripter), and then, for estimation of genetic purity, the number of plants of other cultivars and other species were counted in each plot. By comparing these counts with those permitted under the guidelines of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, it was judged whether or not the genetic purity of seed plots.The results showed that 27% of the studied barley samples were non-standard. Examination of reject numbers in terms of genetic purity by seed class showed that rejister and breeder2 seed class with 21 and 12.9% of reject numbers, respectively, had the highest and lowest values. Examination of reed samples in terms of genetic originality by seed class also showed that rejister and breeder2 seed class with 10.5 and 6.5% of reject numbers had the highest and lowest values, respectively. The study of genetic purity of seeds produced by provinces showed that; Provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, Qom, Ardabil, Fars, Semnan, Kohkiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Khorasan Razavi, Hamedan, West Azerbaijan, Zanjan, Sistan, Markazi and Isfahan with 67, , , , , , , , , , , , , and % of the rejected numbers respectively, were the most impure seed producers. Examination of the originality of seeds produced in the provinces also showed that; Semnan, Lorestan, Kerman, South Khorasan, Kermanshah, Zanjan, Khorasan Razavi, Isfahan, Khuzestan and Fars provinces with 5, , , , , , , , , and 7% of rejected numbers respectively, were evaluated as having the problem of non-originality of produced seeds. Examination of genetic purity of barley cultivars and lines showed that; EH, Nik, Nowruz, Yousef, Zahak, Nimroz, Makoei, Gohran, Jolgeh, Oksin, Reyhan 03, Behrokh and Bahman respectively with, 100, , , , , , ,., , , 8 and 7% of the rejected numbers of the most impure barley cultivars were evaluated. Examination of the originality of barley cultivars and lines also showed that; Lot, Reyhan, Nosrat, Gohran, Yousef, Reyhan 03 and Jolgeh cultivars were evaluated with 100, , , , 13, 1 and 8% of rejrcted numbers, respectively, had the highest problem of originality.
