This research is one of the projects of the national plan of land suitability evaluation for important agricultural and horticultural crops in the irrigated plains, which has been implemented in all provinces. These projects was aimed to determine the land suitability for cultivating field and orchard crops in the studied areas, which is an essential element in preparation of the country's cropping pattern. This research is also dedicated to three provinces of Kermanshah, Kurdestan and Ilam. In each province, the first phenological information, meteorological data and soil and land data extracted from collected soil studies and their digitized soil maps. Land suitability assessment was carried out for 8 field and 11 orchard crops in three regions of Kermanshah province, with an approximate area of 225,000 hectares. In Kurdestan province, land suitability assessment was carried out for 5 crops and 9 garden plants in an area of 49,000 hectares. In Kurdestan province, land suitability assessment was performed for 7 crops and 6 garden plants in an area of 55,000 hectares.According to the results of the land suitability classification in Kermanshah province, in the highly suitable class (S1), sugerbeet with an area of about 94,582 hectares, in the moderately suitable class (S2), alfalfa with an area of 142,492 hectares, potato in the marginally suitable class (S3), with approximately131,027 hectares, in the currently unsuitable class (N1), chickpea with 11,538 hectares and in permanently unsuitable class (N2), potato with 33,036 hectares contain the largest area in the studied lands. In Kurdestan province, clover in the highly suitable class (S1) with about 27,012 hectares, in the moderately suitable class (S2), wheat with an area of approximately 35,644 hectares, and potato in the marginally suitable class (S3) with approximately 19,208 hectares, in the currently unsuitable class (N1), potato with 1578 hectares and in permanently unsuitable class (N2), potato and chickpea each with 1316 hectares have the largest area in the studied lands. In Ilam province, sugerbeet in the highly suitable class (S1) with about 4245 hectares, in the moderately suitable class (S2), wheat with an area of approximately 27584 hectares, and chickpesa in the marginally suitable class (S3) with approximately 32,007 hectares, in the currently unsuitable class (N1), grain maize with 12,867 hectares and in permanently unsuitable class (N2), grain maize 15,287 hectares have the largest area in the studied landsThe results of the land suitability classification for horticultural products in Kermanshah province showed that, in the highly suitable class (S1), olive with an area of approximately 1359 hectares, in the moderately suitable class (S2), grape with an area of about 86,033 hectares, olive in the marginally suitable class (S3) with approximately 187,078 hectares, in the currently unsuitable class (N1), Pomegranate with 97,381 hectares and in permanently unsuitable class (N2), citrus with 172,547 hectares have the largest area in the studied lands. For horticultural products in Kurdestan Province, grape in the highly suitable class each with an area of about 161 hectares, in the moderately suitable class (S2), grape with an area of about 31,701 hectares, almond the marginally suitable class (S3) with approximately 46,710 hectares, in currently unsuitable class (N1), sweet cherry with 8374 hectares and in permanently unsuitable class (N2) peach and nectarine with about 5974 hectares have the largest area in the studied lands. The results of the land suitability classification for horticultural products in Ilam province showed that, in the highly suitable class (S1), olive with an area of approximately 317 hectares, in the moderately suitable class (S2), olive with an area of about 9325 hectares, olive in the marginally suitable class (S3) with approximately 36,368 hectares, in the currently unsuitable class (N1), citrus with 21,794 hectares and in permanently unsuitable class (N2), walnut with 43,047 hectares have the largest area in the studied landsAccording to the results obtained from this investigation, the priority of cultivating crops in Kermanshah province based on the areas of land S1 and S2 is proposed as wheat, sugar beet, barley, alfalfa, canola, tomato, grain maize and potato. In Kurdestan province, the proposed priority for plant cultivation is clover, barley, wheat, alfalfa, chickpea and potato, respectively. Also, in Ilam province, the proposed priority for plant cultivation is sugar beet, wheat, alfalfa, barley, chickpea and canola, respectively. Also, based on the obtained results in this research, the priority of cultivating garden products in the studied areas of Kermanshah province is grape, fig, apple, sour cherry, sweet cherry, olive, date, pomegranate, walnut and citrus. In case of Kurdestan province's garden products, the priority of plants is grape, peach, apple, apricot, nectarine, sour cherry, sweet cherry, walnut and almond, respectively.According to the results obtained from this investigation, the priority of cultivating garden products in the studied areas of Kermanshah province is olive and grape, respectivelyKeywords: Kermanshah province, Kurdestan province, Ilam province, field and orchard crops, land suitability classification, parametric method.
