Islamic Republic of Iran with a cultivated area of 12,000 hectares and annual production of 287,000 tons of kiwifruit has a special position among kiwifruit producers in the world. Bacterial canker is the most important disease in the world. If the environmental conditions are favorable, bacteria can cause severe damage to the trees and ultimately lead to complete drying of the tree.In this study, the relative susceptibility or resistance of Golden, Red and Hayward cultivars were studied under controlled conditions in lab and greenhouse for 2 years. This study was carried out in a completely randomized design with four replications under plastic conditions on seedlings grown in sterile soil compositions. In greenhouse conditions, bacterial canker were inoculated into leaves and then covered with plastic for 48 hours. Within two weeks to two months, symptoms of the disease were observed on seedlings on a daily basis and the data were recorded. Among the examined cultivars, the Hayward had the least susceptibility; the Golden and Red cultivars were the most sensitive. The isolate of the bacterium used belongs to the species Pseudomonase syringae pv. syringaeKey words: kiwifruit, susceptibility, bacteria and canker
