"Clonal Selection" is a tea breeding method that consists of three stages of single-plant visual selection, nursery experiments, and long-term experiments of the preliminary and final field survey, by comparing yield and quality of green leaves and made tea as well as sensory assessment of beverages. The first stage of the project was started by selecting 442 and 307 single plants, respectively, in the spring of autumn in 16 areas of Tea State of Iran and setting the plant selection identity according to the international descriptor of tea. The multipication of 583 single-plant continued by planting single-leaf cuttings and recording the characteristics of young plants in the nursery. Screening in the nursery was based on the percentage of cuttings mortality and morphological characteristics of young plants. Farm experiments continued with the planting of young seedlings of 55 selected genotypes at the research stations of Guilan and Mazandaran. After frame pruning (Decenter-Prune-Skiff-Prune-Skiff), performance record and stability analysis (Eberhart-Russell method), and checking the quality of green leaves and miniature tea, dry tea and sensory evaluation (Organoleptic tests) were completed. Based on the results in the Fuman region; two promising clones 100 and 437 with the yield of green leaves and the quality of the desired beverage, with a prediction of more than 5.5 tons of standard crop (one bud and two leaves of hand-plucked) and stable and quality of beverages, respectively The average of 15 and 12.5 / 20 were different from other clones and seed control, and are suitable for evaluation of development in chihuahan areas of western province. In Lahijan region, promising clones 100 and 444 with a yield of about 5 tons of standard and stable products and quality of beverages with an average of 15 and 13.5 / 20, respectively, have the capacity to develop developmental experiments. According to the results of research in Mazandaran, two clones of 178 and 100 with a yield of 6800 grams/plot and a desirable quality due to the unstable performance, in comparison with two clones of 51 and 36 with a yield of 4000 and 3500 grams/plot, and lower quality, but Stable. Selection and introduction of superior clones in Mazandaran requires further studies.Key Words: Tea, Clonal Selection, Yield, Quality, Clonal Cultivar.
